William S. Kalinowski

William S. Kalinowski, CPA, joined Burzenski & Company in 1994. As a director with the firm, he concentrates his efforts on the accounting, audit, attestation and planning areas of practice. He regularly prepares and audits financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

 

Mr. Kalinowski specializes in the areas of nonprofit and governmental engagements, including compliance with “Yellow Book” and A-133 requirements. His governmental experience encompasses supervising municipal, nonprofit and HUD projects receiving federal and state assistance.

 

He is instrumental in executing accounting and audit functions and serves as a reviewer of financial statements for clients in numerous industries. With a strong background in financial accounting, he has a keen ability to evaluate clients’ internal control systems relative to transaction risk. His knowledge about compliance, laws and regulations, enables him to consistently ensure appropriate transactions and findings. Additionally, he is skilled at evaluating system weaknesses and providing recommendations to clients for strengthening internal controls, operating procedures and increasing business efficiency.

 

He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of New Haven, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting. He serves on the Board of Directors of Artspace, Inc. of New Haven and as the vice-chairman of the Town of Cheshire’s Youth Service Commission. He is a member of Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
